December Reckey Run.

Presidents Report

Hi All

Well December couldn’t have been a more different month for 4WDing, even with all the silly season celebrations and events. We still managed to have 4 “Pointsable” Runs.

The Dargaville Xmas Parade was well attended with 7 trucks. The theme this year was Xmas Traditions.  At our house watching the “Grinch of Christmas’’ each year is our tradition we suggested that it was the theme for our Club. It was great to support this event and show that we are not always about ripping things up and getting covered in mud.

The clubs Xmas Run down to Pouto was down by road due to the tides. We had a play around the lighthouse etc before heading back to camp for the night, where our “great feast”awaited cooked by Chef Patch in his weber. The next days saw us 4WDing back up the beach, thru the cause way and the dunes finishing at Mahuta Gap late afternoon.

On the 17th December we had a shiny reccy at Waimamaku with 14 trucks attending, an excellent turnout. We explored some new tracks which will make the Safari a little different. Good to have new members coming along and wanting to be part of what we do.

The Sunday 18th December followed on to the Tuff truck reccy with 6 trucks taking part. Patch unfortunately didn’t have his “lucky Carol charm” and struggled with some pine trees!!!! Some spots still very wet and boggy requiring winching for all trucks, except for Norman and his trusty Hilux (go Crumpy) who managed to get thru everything. This run will also have some new areas for the Safari.

Keep up the great enthusiasm for 2017.

Hope you all have/had a great Xmas and Santa bought you lots of 4WD presents (hopefully the Grinch didnt get to them first, or if I did thanks very much!!!! Smile)

Yours in 4WDing
