Hi Guys and Gals,

Our AGM is coming up on May the 10th, 7.30pm at the Northern Wairoa Boating Club as usual. It would be great if we get a good turn out as we have a couple of points to discuss.
Also Vanessa is stepping back from the Editor position this year so think of nominations please.

See you there

Presidents Report

Hi All

Well the Hokianga Safari is now done and dusted. A very successful event with over 80 trucks including our selves. Great to finally have it all come together so well and the weather was just brilliant. After a very wet weekend before when we tried to do a full Reccy!!!! Thankfully we did as we altered some of the shinny’s tracks due to a VERY slippery down hill section.

The weather just cleared enough late in the week to allow some of us to do a final reccy on Friday, which meant we had a very good feel of the track. Even if one of us lost a diff in the process and another marshal was rushed to hospital with appendicitis. Hope you are recovering well Cody.

Friday recceying also meant a Big step-up by the Club Members left to scrutineer and check in the entrants. Well done to the team involved.

The actual day and a half Safari ran very smoothly, only one person took ‘’a fence” (and we were able to cut her free from it so she could carry on with no damage). I had a Very Quiet day out front leading the Safari with only one handbrake in my truck, thanks Sam for taking care of my other one.

As for the clean up of the complex. The club members who stayed behind after the Safari was nothing short of Amazing!!!!! The many hands made light work of it, and it was truly awesome to head inside thinking it was time to start the clean-up to find the crew had actually done it all, toilets, showers and the complex cleaned, swept and mopped. Thank you all. Truly a clear example of just how this Club of Ours can pull together and just get things done.

Soooo Now we need Runs / Events that are “Just for Fun”not based around trying to organise Safaris.

Once again Thanks to All who Helped or participated in some way to the Hokianga Safari. Every little bit helps. We all certainly proved there is “No I in Team”

Yours in 4WDing

Later Ron
